The Cropwell Butler Cemetery is located at the end of the village towards Cropwell Bishop.
It was originally consecrated in 1905 and in 1920, an oak-framed lychgate was erected at the entrance as a memorial to the local men who died in the First World War.
The lychgate bears the inscription “Death is swallowed up in victory,” and an internal plaque lists the names of the fallen. Around 2012, the area outside the gate was landscaped with a new pavement, steps, a ramp, and a small parking bay.
Parishioners may request plots from the Clerk of the Parish Council.
All requests must be approved by the Parish Council before proceeding.
