How to book the Village Hall and the fees for hiring

Great for Functions and Events

The village hall has two separate rooms that can be equipped with a large number of tables and chairs for use with your booking to make it an ideal, multi-purpose venue. Typical uses include:

  • Social parties for children and adults
  • Children’s parties are particularly popular
  • Weddings, luncheons, wakes, coffee mornings etc
  • Dancing, keep fit, yoga, pilates etc
  • Meetings, seminars and arts & crafts
  • Quiz nights

In fact, any public or private event that complies with the modest usage restrictions of the hall. Please check with the Bookings Secretary for specific guidance.

 

Facilities

The red brick Edwardian building was the village school until 1968 since when it has been extensively modified and modernised throughout with internal decoration in pastel shades and central heating system with pre-set and automatic temperature control.

  • Main Hall 12m x 6m (40ft x 20ft) with an additiona raised stage 5m x 6m (17ft x 20ft) with high ceilings, tall triple windows, and excellent lighting to suit different occasions.
  • Meeting Room 5.8m x 5.8m (19ft square) for committee, meeting, reception, buffet etc, with high ceilings and French doors leading out onto a spacious patio area.
  • Entrance Lobby leading to an Entrance Hall with a serving bar, access to the kitchen and storage area and access to the main hall and meeting room.
  • Storage Room for chairs and tables to seat 90-100 people.
  • Dressing Room with direct access to the main hall stage for use with all productions and events being held in at the Village Hall.
  • Kitchen comprising a double sink and drainers, two gas cookers, extractor hood and fan, fridge freezer, warming cupboard, and individual glass and crockery washers. The kitchen has been approved by the Borough Council in respect of facilities and hygiene.
  • White china and sufficient cutlery for circa 80 place settings.
  • Toilet and comfort facilities for Ladies and Gentlemen.

 

Bookings & Fees

  • A non-returnable deposit of £10 is required with any booking.
  • Preferential rates are available for regular users – please ask the Bookings Secretary for more information.
  • Any requests not specifically listed will be charged an equivalent fee, fixed at the discretion of the Bookings Secretary.

 

Single Room: Meeting Room or Main Hall

  • £20.00 for first hour
  • £10.00 per hour thereafter
  • Includes light use of kitchen
  • Discounts available for regular hire

 

Full Hall

  • Includes full use of kitchen
  • Children’s Party – £85
  • Adult Party – £100 to £150 dependent on duration and numbers
  • Overnight – per 24 hours, Summer rate £100, Winter rate £120
